Singelelemination Germany

We finished the single half an hour ago… It went not like I wanted it. I could win my first heat but lost in the second round against Peter Tyshevich. He had a good heat and I couldn’t do enough tricke. In the double I will meet Silvester Rückdaschel. Lets see how it goes. The forecast looks good.

Germany… Trials and boring…

Yesterday was the first competition day and in the end they could do the trials in really bad conditions my Austrian teammate Julian Hosp was out with 15 and struggled almost in the light wind. He made it into the main event with his last chance so I’ m not the only Austrian here.

Today we had some wind in the morning but it dropped more and more and so there was only one race held and that was it for today. I’m getting really good in playing tablesoccer maybe I change the sport… You can train all day long and it don’t matter how the weather is… At least the weather was better than yesterday.

Lets hope for wind tomorrow. The forecast says that it could be windy…

Up in the north…

Hey guys. In the moment I am sitting in the rain up in Germany… We are here for the 7th tourstop of the PKRA Worldtour. Yesterday we did the registration and today is the first day of the competition. In the moment its not really windy and its raining since the morning. We are on hold and here is not much to do so everybody is sitting in the riderstent and waits for some wind. 39 men are registered for the freestyle so they have to do trails. I will keep you updated if something is happening.

Holiday in Egypt!!!

In the moment I am relaxing with my girlfriend Carina in El Gouna/Egypt. I wanted to take a timeout from the worldcup stress and to get back in better shape. After Fuerte I was a little bit disapointed about my kiting and I thougt that El Gouna would be a nice place to train and get my head free…

I’m here now since the 7th of August. We met my JN teammate Stefan Spiessberger from Austria here to train a bit with him. He is working here as a kiteinstructor in the Kitepeople station at the hotel Mövenpick and trains for the Austrian championchip. We are also staying at the Mövenpick and we enjoy it a lot.

The wind here is almost perfect. Its blowing like out of a hairdryer. As steady and as warm too. The water is almost hot and cristal clear. Just perfect for my training. The people at the kitestation are super friendly and so we really love to be here. The spot is also nice for beginners and so I’m teaching Carina here and so far its working pretty good.

To get back to my training: Its working great. All my tricks are working here in the moment and I also added some new ones. Right now my shape can’t be better and I hope that I can keep this till the event in Germany.

Sorry for updating my site so late but the internet in Egypt is pretty bad. I will put some pictures in my gallery when we are back at home.

A big thanks goes to the guys at the Kitepeoplestation for helping and supporting me.

Last day

The last day here on Fuerte was pretty windy again. We went to the end of the lagoon here at Sotavento because we expected better wind and flat water. In the end it was gusty and most of the time choppy… I had two exausting sessions with my 7.

We could take some nice pictures as you can see in the gallery. It was not easy to get these photos due to the gusty wind next to the beach but I gave everything and I think the pics are looking good.

After all I have been here for one week. The wind blew every day and always super strong. I was out every day on my seven and often overpowerd… Pretty insane. I hope for a little bit less wind in Egypt…

Training after the comp

Finally the competition here on Fuerte is over. After the finals of the double, Aaron won in front of Sebastian and Kevin, I had a pretty cool session with Julian and my Dad. I was overpowerd on my 7 but the waves have been perfect and I pulled some high kiteloops and big airs.

Today is our last kiteable day here and I hope that the wind is good for some training. Tomorrow we fly home to Austria and after two days at home I’ll fly with my girlfriend to Egypt.

The doubleelemination…

Yesterday we started the double. I had to go up against Mike Blomvall. The conditions have been the worst I ever kited and I had big, big problems with them. I wasn’ t able to show what I wanted to show. In the end I lost and I am really disapointed about this fact. Today I’ll try to train a little bit but the conditions here are not motivating and it’s no fun to go out and ride.

I’ll keep you updated about the final results here.

2nd day of the comp

On the second day of the comp here I had to go against Tom Court… The wind was really bad. Gusty, strong and almost unkiteable. All the riders had big Problems in these conditions and we saw a lot of crashes. I was in heat 7 so I had time to watch a bit. When my heat startet the wind was pretty strong and I was almost over on my 7. Somehow I managed to do some nice tricks and so I won this heat.

In the third round I was up against Kevin Langeree. It was allready late and the wind got even worse. It was defenitly not funny to ride and we both crashed a lot. It was a close heat… In the end Kevin won… No shame to lose against the umber one… After this heat they stopped for today. Tomorrow they finish the single and then go straight into the double. Lets see who I will get.

1st day of competition in Fuerte

Today I had a pretty good day. We did the first round of singleelemination and I could win my first heat. I went up against James from the UK. The wind was very strong and I was out on my 7. I sticked some nice tricks and it was enough to beat my opponent.

We also took some pictures today. You can watch them in the gallery.

Later the wind droped and we stopped for today.

Tomorrow we continue and I have to go against Tom Court. Lets see how it goes.

Wish me the best.

Arrival on Fuerte

Today we arrived on Fuerteventura. After the landing we got our luggage and a rental car and left in direction Sotavento Beach. On the way we stoped at Mc Donalds for lunch and then we drove down to the beach. I pumped up my 7 and went out to get used to the conditions. The wind was super strong and gusty like hell. Incredible!!! I could pull some tricks but also had a few hard crashes… After all I was happy that I went out because its not nice to start in these conditions without testing them…

The event starts tomorrow at 10 o’clock with a skippersmeeting.

Wish me good luck for the drawing and the contest.

On the way to Fuerteventura…

In the moment I’m sitting in my car on the way to the airport of Salzburg. I’m leaving to the 6th tourstop of the PKRA this year on the Canary island Fuerteventura. The windforecast looks promising with strong winds all the time. My buddy Julian Hosp is allready there and he’s ripping on his 5 meter kite!!!

Maybe I can give it a try today afternoon…

I’ll keep you updated what’s happening - so stay tuned!

Interview in ATV-Aktuell & Sport

There was a short interview sent on ATV-Aktuell and Sport prime time -  Saturday, 12th of July at 07:20PM. ATV is one of our two major television-stations here in Austria and has a lot of viewers. Quality is now a little bit better - a friend gave me a copy from his harddisk-recorder - thanks!!
