Nice Weekend…

The last weekend was really a nice one. Unfortunatly there was no wind at the Isuzu Kitesurf Öm sponsored by Samsung except on the first day. At least we got some good footage for the media. But on Saturday and Sunday the weather was great and I had a lot of fun, chilling with my girlfriend at the eventside and talk to all my friends. At night we had an awsome party at Podo Bar. It was Summerbreak-Party and as usual it was pure fun… On Sunday everything ended with a nice BBQ.

The Stylehunters team made a great job on this event. The organisation was perfect and it was for sure the best Kiteevent of Austria so far. Maybe we can repeat everthing again next year with more wind…

This evening I’m going to the airport to take my flight to Chile. This will be the last Pkra Tourstop of the year. I hope to get a good result and to change something in the ranking. The weatherforcast says something like 13 degrees but thats not too bad cause I traind now all the time in freezing conditions.

I’ll keep you updated.

ÖM - Podersdorf

This weekend there is ISUZU Kitesurf- and Windsurf ÖM (Austrian Championship) in Podersdorf am Neusiedlersee.

Lot of good riders here and all waiting for wind. Because it’s my homespot and a lot of my friends are kiting here I and my stepsister Lisa deceided to attend the competition.

Weather was very cold the first day and wind very inconsistent. So the jury deceided to hold an expression session to take some pictures and film a little bit for broadcasting.

We had nice 30 minutes but than unfortunately it started to rain and the wind died. 10 Minutes later there was hail and everybody tried to find a tent.

So hopefully tomorrow there’s a little bit more wind and less rain…

Some pics you’ll find in the gallery.

The rest of the comp…

On the 4th day of the competition here in Canada we had really good wind coming in. In the morning it was to less but it improved more and more and after lunch it was enough for to finish the doubles.

I was in the 3rd heat and I had to go against Alex Pastor from Spain. He is riding really good so i knew that I will have to out everything into it to win. I had a solid heat with a lot of powerd clean tricks. When the last minute startet I went for all or nothing and tried to do a Front Mobe 5. I passed the bar twice but when I landed the board got stucked in the mudd next to the beach and I crashed. My Kite dropped to bad and broke. The rocks on the beach where to much for it… I watched the last two tricks of Alex and then the heat was over. I lost in a close 3:2 desicion… A little bit unlucky but I’m still happy. Alex is the number 4 in the world and I was really close to beat him…

Start of the doubles…

Yesterday we had a crazy day again. First they had to finish the single. They made a skippersmeeting at 6 in the morning. Unfortunately nobody of the officials took care when the sun rises here and so the meeting and the first possible start were hold in complete darkness. Funny - isn’t it? There was also no wind and after discussions and discussions they decided to put all riders, which where still in the single into a bus and look for another spot. Finally they found a place and finished the singles.

When the bus came back they straight wanted to start the doubles but they forgot that there was lowtide and so we had to move again to another place with water. They startet the first heat 3 times before they could count it… I was in the 5th heat against Madisson van Huerck. The wind was super gusty. Against all others I took a small kite and did the right decision. The wind picked up a little bit and was perfect for my PrimaDonna 11. I had a good heat and could beat Madi. I’m really happy with that… After this round they had to quit again due to the dropping and gusty wind.

Today we tried to start severall times but it was too light wind all day long. After lunch at 2pm they called it off for today…

Skippermeeting tomorrow at 7:30am

Kra Canada… Singles

Today we had the singleelemination. What should I say… It was too bad. I had to go against Sebastian Garat. The wind was nice for my 13 and so I went out on the water. Right befor my heat the wind startet droping. I could do some good tricks with good power and everything but after 4 minutes the wind droped so much that I had to stop kiteing. I could not go upwind anymore and was standing on the beach by onshore wind. Sebastian was on a 15 bowkite and managed to do some tricks. I was so pissed and disapointed. I wanted to protest but they did not let me. The next heat was Aaron against Van Hureck and after one minute Aaron was on the beach as well and told that it is to less and they stoped imediatly… After this I was even more pissed. Later the wind came back and they started again. They had one heat wind and then it was Julians heat. He could not go upwind with 15… After that it was MArios turn against Kevin. He was riding good but could not go upwind anymore as well. They quited afte that.

So I have to wait for the doubles. Lets see what it will bring. But for me the “P” in Pkra is cancelled…

PKRA Canada… Registration

Yesterday we had to register for the competition. 18 men registrated themselves for this event.

We waited the hole day for wind and finally in the evening it picked up and everybody got on the water to check the conditions and to have fun. The spot here is really nice and easy. Small chop and shallow water. The wind was a bit gusty and there is a current but its ok.

Today is the first day of competition. Skippersmeeting is at 12 and then we have to wait for the flood to come in. Lets see how it will be. The forcast looks good.

Wish me luck… please…

Ps: Thanks for the pictures Jule.

PKRA Canada… arrival

Today I arrived here in Canada for the 8th tourstop of the PKRA worldtour. The event will be held on an island close to Helifax. In the moment I am sitting in the airport with Mario Rodwald and Julian Hosp, waiting for the shuttle to pick us up.

Tomorrow will be regestration day and the day after tomorrow the competition starts.

I’ll keep you updated if possible.

ISUZU ÖM powered by Samsung

Hi everybody.

I just wanted to inform you that Austrian Championchip is coming soon. So everybody is invited to take part at this event.

Back home

Finally I’m back in Ausrtia. The last days in Germany have been really nice with lots of sun and warm weather.

My girlfriend and I went to the concert of “Wir sind Helden”, a really good german band. We also joined some parties and had much fun. Over all I’m pretty happy how everything went in Germany. Another top ten place, lots of fun with my friends, a good time with my girlfriend and some nice sessions on the water.

Yesterday was my first day at home and i woke up in the morning and heard the wind blowing outside. I drove 10 minutes to one of the best spots on our lake and arrived there before everbody else. I had a supernice morning session with good wind for the 11, sunny warm weather and lots of space on the water.

The double…

Yesterday the doubleelemination of the Pkra tourstop in Germany was held. The wind was pretty strong, just perfect for my 9. I started in the second round and my opponent was Silvester Ruckdäschel. He was riding on bindings. He did some awsome tricks but also some really bad wipeouts. In the end I could win.

My next opponent was a Belgian guy from the Kpwt. He was ripping on the water. His last trick in my heat was a Frontmobe5. I won due to more power and graps. In the 4th round I had to go against Reno Romeo. He was riding good and I struggled because I got tired.

At the end I got 9th. I can live with that but I want some better places as well. Lets see what the futur

brings.
