The last days we had really good conditions here in Coche. If you forget the jellyfishes, it’s pretty good and cool. I trained a lot and my tricks get better and better. Most of the riders have successfully arrived on the island and everybody is showing his best tricks. It’s motivating but its also very crowded on the water. Till now I haven’t seen really new tricks. Everybody is trying to get the doublepasses and more power.
Tomorrow is registration and the day after tomorrow the 3rd tourstop of the PKRA-worldtour starts here in Coche/Venezuela.

Today was a really cool day. First there was no wind and Jule and I decided to take some pics on the beach. The backgrpound was really pefekt and we took some real nice shots. I try to upload them but I have some problems with the internet here. You can also watch the pics which I took from Jule on his homepage.
Later the wind came and we had two real good sessions. Pile, Jule and I pushed each other and so we did some good tricks…

Yesterday I arrived after a long trip here in Venezuela. I was really tired but still had to go by boat to Isla Coche. After that i had to fight with the hotel to get a room and to pay not too much. They wanted 160 Dollar per night! After some talking and talking and talking i managed everything and got a bed in Philipp Brückmanns and Jule Hosps room. Afer the Dinner i felt into my bed.
Today i woke up at 6 o’ clock in the mornig. I got up for some breakfast and checked the internet. At 12 I got on the water with my twelve. It was a lightwind session but I had fun and trained for the 3rd Pkra tourstop wich will start her in less than one week. In the Afternoon I got out a second time in even lighter wind but it was still enough to train my new moves.
LEts see what tomorrow happens. I will keep you up to date.

After successful PKRA-event in Leucate we had a little time to produce a new video. My buddy Oli was also there and we had much fun!! We used one trainingsession at Etang Leucate for filming. Unfortunately we had only this one good day with sun there, so the time was limited… Anyway - enjoy this funny stuff in the style of a roadmovie… bam oida!!

“bam oida…” as Windows Media file (ca 115MB) click here
“bam oida…!” as Quicktime file (ca 139MB) click here
You’ll find also the videos together with recent vids at http://www.mikekite.tv/Videos-Frame.htm
Further you’ll find the vid also on Youtube http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=Ynblrzn9Si8 but the quality there is poor…
On normal PC quality of wmv is a little better as it was neccessary to downsize the mov file to get a reasonable size…

We are now almost at the end of the competition here in Leucate. I finished on the fourth place after the double and I am really happy with this result! After the Double Oli, Ronny, my dad and me drove a little bit around to train, take pictures and make viedeoshots. We found some nice places and had a lot fun. Today it’s raining the hole day and pretty cold. The day after tomorrow we fly back home to Austria. Maybe there is some good wind tomorrow to practise some new tricks.
I have uploaded some pictures. These are only outtakes from a video so the quality is not the best.

Day 5:
Today was the single elemination and I tell you it was such a cool unreal incredible day. Let me start at the beginning…
The ridersmeeting was at 8.00 in the morning. I felt not too good and I was a little bit tyred. The organisation told us that they will start with trails and so I had some time to prepare my gear and myself. After the drawing I was up against Oliver Panny my buddy from my homespot. I was super happy for him that he made the qualifikation but than I had to ride against him. I had a nice heat and could win this one. I was really sorry for Oli but he will make it in the doubles. My second heat was against a guy from Venezuela. He kicked out Pile the round before and was riding good & radical but I did some good stuff and could beat him. After this my next opponent was Mike Blomwall. He kicked out Cesar Portas befor what means to kick the number 3 of the world. I had a really good heat. I sticked everthing and my kite was low. After I came back to the beach I heard that I won this heat and so i was so stoked. That meant that i would be at least 5th… My next heat was against Kevin. I tryed hard but it was not enough… So I had to go into the Losers Final against Peter Ty. from Russia. I motivated myself again for the last heat for me today and I did pretty good. I came from the water to the anouncing and they told me thatI got 3rd!!! How cool is that?!?! I am super happy and could not believe it at this moment… Never dreamed in the morning, that I get 3rd behind Kevin and Aaron in the evening…. It’s a DREAM!!!
Let’s see what in the doubles happens but in the moment I’m super stoked. In worst case I’m 4th after the doubles but be sure: I’ll fight and give my best!! I want to thank all my Sponsors, my Family, my Friends, my grlfriend Carina and my father who made this happen for me. Thanks sooooo much. Your support is so great and important.

Day 4:
Today was like pretended. The wind was super strong and it was really cold. We measured up to 100Kmh what means that you have to fight to survive. The windchill was also cold so I decided not to go out today. Some guys tryed it but it did not look like they had fun out there.
Today was registration and tomorrow 8 o`clock in the morning is ridermeeting. I hope i don`t oversleep…
The forecast says strong wind again for tomorrow but i hope that its a little bit less than today. I will update my site as soon as there are some news.
Please wish me good luck tomorrow.

Day 3:
Today we went to Spain because there was no wind in Leucate. It took us one hour to a spot next to a town called Roses. It was really nice there! First i have been out on my ten, later I pumped up my 8 and took it for a ride. We also made some pics. You will find them in the gallery.
Tomorrow will be the registration for the competition and it looks like there will be wind as well. Actually it looks like its getting stormy and cold but let’s see.

Yesterday I arrived in Leucate in France for the Mondial du Vent. This year the PKRA takes place at this huge event. I arrived a little bit earlier to get used to the tricky conditions here. The event starts on Saturday and the forcast tells something about 40 to 50 knots for the first day of competition. I hope it does not get too hardcore but we will see. Yesterday and today I trained here and my father took some pictures. You’ll find them in the gallery. We also visited the museum of Salvador Dali in Figueras/Spain. I will also upload some interesting pics from there.Stay tuned for more news from the second PKRA-tourstop here in France….

Nice weekend!! Weather and temperature got better and hopefully the spring will bring good trainingconditions for my homespot. A few pictures of one of theses sessions in Podersdorf / Lake Neusiedlersee together with some friends of mine you’ll find in the gallery.

The Event is over and everybody is on the way home. I fly tomorrow back to Austria. I’ ve seen that there was good south east wind yesterday and I hope that there will be some more when I am at home.
I wanted to train a little bit today but the wind died and so I rested with Alvaro Onieva and Alex Pastor.
On the last day of the Competition some races were helt and at the end we did an freestyle expression session. I had a show- heat against Mario Rodwald from Germany. We did some nice stuff for the spectators at the beach. After that it startet to rain and I packed my stuff.

On the 4th day of the competition everybody chilled and relaxed. The wind was offshore and it was impossible to do racing or to go out for training. I had to move to another hotel so it got not too boring.
The 3rd day was the day of the Doubleelemination. I was waiting for my opponent really long becouse the double startet in a man on man format. After three hours of waiting I pumped up my gear and checked, if everything is allright. I went out to test the conditions and it felt good.
Back on the beach I saw that Mark Jakobs made it into my heat. He had a good day and I knew that it won’t be easy to beat him. Marc is an unpredictable rider and you never know, what comes next. Sometimes he has crashes the whole heat and sometimes he rides like the hell… I had a good heat and showed some nice tricks. Unfortunately at the end it was not enough. In a close decision ( 3:2) the juges gave the win to Mark. I was a little bit disapointed but I can life with this desicion. I got 9th and that’s not bad for the first event of the year. I hope that I can improve and do better in one of the next events.
