Last competition for this year…

Yesterday ended the last competition for this season. The KPWT tourstop in Marocco/Essauira. After a pretty windless boring week we got some wind on the last two days. The conditions haven’t been to good and there was not to much wind but still we managed to finish the singels in Freestyle. I was not really happy with my prefomance and got kicked out early by Vincent Tiger from France. So I made it to the 5th lace in this comp. After an exhausting year I was also a bit tired of competing. In the end I got a nice 4th place in the Freestyle overall ranking in the KPWT.

Fabian and Iris from JN Kites also showed up here in Marocco and so I could test some new stuff from next year. I can’t say to much but its gonna be sweet stuff…

Tomorrow I’m going home to Austria to spend some time with my girlfriend and my familiy. Holiday at home or something like that…

Time to wake up from the dream…

After a great time in Brasil I’m now back in the cold and foggy Austria. The rest of the competition in Brasil was disappointing. In the doubleelemination, in my heat for the 3rd place, my leash broke after 3 minutes and I was swimming 100 meter away from the shore. So I was swimming arround for the rest of my heat thinking about how unfair live can be… But after some bad minutes I recogniced that I am healthy and that I have everthing I want in live so I got happy again and enjoyed the rest of my time in Brasil. And what a time it was… I had some of the best kitesessions ever and I’ll never forget these days…

3rd after the single… Stoked!!!

Yesterday we had the singleelemination of the KPWT worldcup in Brasil. The event took place at the famous Cauipe-lagoon. The spot was just perfect like always and everybody could show hi-level freestyle. The heats have been really hard and the lokals were ripping the place. I had some good runs and adwanced some heats till the semifinal. There I had to go against the best Brasilien guy called Evandro Da Silva. This kid is killing it with an endless pool of tricks and he showed just too many against me. I lost that heat but could go for the small final. I was against the number 2 here in Brasil - Tomas Taixera Gomez. I had a awsome heat and could beat him. So I am current 3rd… I hope I can keep it in the doubles but its gonna get hard!!!

I also had my own crazy fan club with me. They cryed even louder than all the Brasilien fans here and pushed me a lot. Thanks for that and I’ ll spend some tea for their voices…

A Brazilien dream

I’m allready one week here in Cumbuco/ Brazil and its like a dream. Its my 3rd time here now but its impressing me again and again. The spots are so unbelieveable perfekt for kiting… All the tricks are working way easier and its so good to learn new stuff. My girlfriend and I are enjoying the time here and just love this place. Next week the KPWT worldcup starts and I hope that I’m well prepaired for it. Wish me good luck and I’ll keep you updated if there are news…

New video from Greece

This is a short video a friend of mine edited after our trip to Rhodes. We have been there for two weeks and did some filming as well. Hope you like it.

Thanks Dani for your work.

KPWT Dakhla

In the moment I am  in Dakhla/ Maroc for the KPWT competition here. I heard a lot of stories about this place here, how awsome it is and so on. And really it turned out to be a really good spot for a competition and also for training. They have lots of different places to kite here and you can choose from wave till absolute flat water. The event is held on a littlbit choppy place but its still pretty nice for freestyle and the level in the comp was very high.
I had some good heats but unfortunatly also some bad and so I endet up on 6th in the Freestyle dicipline. After the heats I went straight for training because I was not satisfied with myself. I can train on a super nice flatwater spot with almost perfect conditions. I train here with Peter Tyushkevich, Stefan Permien and Viktor Borsuk and they are pushing me a lot. So my kiting gets better here and I’m quit happy to be able to be here. I hope to have some more good days…

Back from holiday…

After to relaxing weeks on Rhodes I am now at home, prepairing for the next KPWT tourstop in Marocco.

We had two weeks with good wind in Fanes and I had a wonderfull time. We had all possible conditions and so it was a good training for me as well. Dani, a friend of mine took some great pictures and we also filmed some action - so we try to make a video. Let’s see how it works out.

Training on Rhodes

After a lot of competition I have to relax a bit and come down from the stress of the events. So my girlfriend, a friend of mine and myself took a plane to Rhodes island. We are staying and kiting in Fanes and I really love that place. The friendly and familar atmosphere here is perfect to chill a bit and its windy every day. Sometimes strong and with waves and sometimes bit lighter and good for freestyle. My father and his wife are also here for holidays and so we have a good time here in greece…

My days at KPWT Canada:

The last week I spent here in Canada. It was time fort he 4th tourstop of the KPWT and it took place in the little city of Shippagan. After a long and exausting journey I arrived at this beautifull place. The spot is awsome and the surrounding landscape is amazing. We had a really good and windy week and they could do a lot of competition. They did Freestyle, Wave, Kiteloop, Sliders and Coursrace.

I could only go for the Freestyle because I got sick right after it and since that I have to lie in my bed and rest. The competition was exiting and I got a more or less good 5th place. I had some really good heats but in the single I was a littlebit disapointed with my preformance. I felt  a little bit weak - perhaps it was because of my upcoming sickness. Stefan Permien won the contest. Grats to him!!!!

Now I stay for one more day and tomorrow I start my trip heading home. First I have to drive 800km to Quebec by car. Hope to make that without problems…

First days at KPWT Canada…

Yesterday I arrived in Shippagan in Canada. After an exausting trip of 25 hours flights, one night at the airport of Quebec and then 8 hours drive trough Canada I made it to this little town on the eastcost. The Place is lovely and surounded by lots of nature.

If have spent the night with Leander and Antoine in a super nice house next to the spot. The spot looks really nice but there is no wind in the moment.

So we are wating for wind and chilling in Shippagan…

2nd Place Kpwt France!!!

After my 4th place in Tarifa I decided to do more than one Tourstop in this organisation. So after Pkra Germany I booked my ticked to Brussle and from there I drove to Dunkerque in the north-east of France. The eventorganicer did a good job and setted up a nice eventvillage with bars, shops and so on. Unfortunatly the wind didn’t show up the first days and so we got preety bored.

On the 4th day the wind showed up and let us run almost 2 rounds of the Singleelemination. I had two good heats and went through in the 3rd round. After my heat the wind dropped and we cancelled fort this day.

The next day looked promising and the wind picked up as predicted. In my first heat I had to go against Chris Tack who could beat current worldchampion Jesse Richman. He did a good heat but I could also show a lot and made it into the next round. In the 4th round I had to go against Vincent Tiger. The heat was about who makes it into the big final. We both got pretty powered on our 11m kites. I have seen Vincent doing some nice big air stuff like a huge 720 Boardoff combined with sick wakestyle tricks. Anyway I was feeling really confident about my riding and showed lots of nice tricks. Due to that I made it into the final. I had to face Peter Tyushkevich. Slowly it is quiet normal to go against him. I got him in every competion this year so far. We did a good job on the water and showed good freestyle. In the end the luck was on his side and he won the competition. Still I’m super stoked about my 2nd place and my fisrt podium at a worldcup!!!!

Back from Germany and good wind at home…

After Fuerte I went straight to St. Peter Ording in the north of Germany. It was time for the 3rd Pkra tourstop this year. Like every year the event in Germany was huge and for sure the biggest contest of the worldtour. Almost 100 riders registered for the competiotion and it was good to see how many motivated guys are out there. The eventorganizer did a great job and we had nice 10 days at the beach. The weather was pretty nice compared to the years befor. Sunshine every day but not too much wind. On the 6th day the wind picked up for freestyle and blew good for 2 days. I had a really bad singleelemination but could preform better in the doubleelemination and got a more or less good 9th place in the end.

After the end of the competition my girlfriend and I went to Hamburg for some sightseeing and on monday we flew home. The wind was allready waiting for us and so I’m kiting everyday here on lake Neusiedlersee. The conditions are awsome and it’s nice weather for my 9PD3…
