Hamata / Egypt

Hi,

One week ago I deceeded to go for a training week to Egypt. To get in shape for the first PKRA tourstop this year. My dad and me were looking for something special to make final tests of new JN - Chit Chat. After some research and phonecalls our decision was the Kitevillage in Hamata/ Marsa Alam. Klaus Schweighofer, a friend of us is owner of the kitestation there and so we booked our flights and took a plane 2 days ago.

After 3 and a half hour flight we landed in Marsa Alam. Far away from the masstourism of Hurgadha. The airport is really small and there are no porters grabbing your bags and shouting for money. 2 hours drive trough an epic landscape later we arrived at Kitevillage. There was no wind the first day so we could fix our stuff without stress. We have a lot to test here – new JN boards will be launched soon… On second day the wind was good for my 7 and so I had a fine days. The spot is pretty nice down here. You are able to walk trough the hole bay. The water is superclear and the colors are awsome. There are some trees in the water and the hole view and everything is really unic. Today the wind was again strong and perfect for my 7 Prima Donna III. We took some pics and filmed a lot.

I will try to upload some photos in the gallery. The internet is unbelievable slow in Egypt so I’m not sure if it works.

Cheers

Mike

Its pretty cold in Austria…

Yeah - it was a shock to go out on lake Neusiedlersee these days but I think it’s a good training for Leucate/France…

Airtemp was 6 degrees (windchill -10), water 5 degrees but with my thick wetsuit it was better than expected…

You can take a look at the freecing pics in my gallery…

I hope that the temperatures are rising the next days…

New video “no more, no less…”

It’s hard to show all the work and spirit in one short movie but believe me - it was a great time! that’s it! no more, no less…

Back in cold Austria

After two month training and living in Southafrica I had to pack my stuff to leave to Austria again.

The last to weeks I had a lot of fun. My girlfriend Carina and I did some cool stuff as safari, sightseeing, shopping, relaxing and meeting friends. I was on the water a lot and I am really happy with my training so far. Unfortunatly the time was flying away and now I’m allready sitting back home in Austria.

It was the 3rd time that I have been in Capetown but for sure this year was the best. So much kiting and so many diffrent conditions to train. So much to see and so many nice experiences.

I will upload some pics in the gallery. More lifestyle than kiting…

The days in Southafrica

Time is moving and my training here in Captown is almost over soon… I have two more weeks now to get my tricks going and to enjoy this incredible place on earth. I had so many good sessions the last days and I’ll put some Teasers of new Video up here. They are all made with my new Samsung HMX20C. Thanks Samsung for that nice cam. You can make videos in superslomotion which looks awsome.

Tomorrow morning Carina, my girlfriend is coming to Capetown. Can’t wait to see her again. So I will change my daily routine a little bit. Not only training… Also shopping, sightseeing and partying.

Cheers

Nice days in Capetown

The last days here in Southafrica have been really nice. I kited a lot and my training is going pretty good. The wind is super nice the last time and I had lots of fun on the water.

Two day ago Leander Vyvey, my JN teammate arrived in Capetown and he stays in our flat for the moment. Its cool to be on the water with him and he is a super nice and funny guy.

I got a nice add on massivemoves.com. You can have a look on it with the link below

Also got some new pics in the gallery!!!

So far so good. I’ll keep you updated if something is going on.

All new gear

Yesterday I had an awsome day. I got my all new stuff for kiting. I got my brand new JN PrimaDonnas III, I got the first Prototyps of the next JN boards which are shaped by my dad and I got my new Quiksilver wetsuits. I was pretty stoked and motivated and could not wait for wind…

When I got on the water I was really impressed of the stuff I have got. The new kite just rocks. Super easy handling, BIG range and massive power. The board is almost the same like my customs have been and so it fells. The best produktionboard ever… Feels so smooth and got mad pop!!!

The new wetsiuts from Quiksilver, the Cypher, is also ruling. Keeps so warm that you like to go in cold water because you start to sweat otherwise…

Some pics you’ll find in the gallery

Nice story in the “Kronenzeitung”

Yesterday there was a nice story of my training here in Southafrica in the Kronenzeitung, Austrias biggest newspaper. The article is written nice and I’m really happy that I made it into this paper again.

Thanks Carina for the fast scanning and sending…

The last days the wind was always apearing late but just in time for a nice sundowner session. Last two days have been been pretty good for training. It was not the “hardcore” south-easter wind coming in. Instead a lighter west wind was blowing around Capetown and I could ride my 11 which makes training easier…

Wind is blowing every day.

The last days the wind turned to south east and thats the typical direction here in Capetown. Since 5 days its nuking with up to 50 knots all the time. We made some trips to get a little bit away from the wind or we went out really early to get lighter winds. We also made some sick pictures. You find some of them in the gallery.

Yesterday we have been in the hills on lake Brandvlei. It was a cool training das with moderate wind and super warm water. Nice to ride in shorts again. In the evening we had a flashlight session and the pics are great.

Training days…

Hey guys.

I’m here in Southafrica for allready one week and I had every day wind. I have used all sizes of my Prima Donnas and rode almost every possible condition. It is so good for training here. You have to stick your tricks in all conditions.

The last days we drove a lot to get to different places like the Cape and Langebaan. We took many pictures and you can look at them in the gallery. On our way to Langebaan we met some giraffes. Pretty cool because you don’t find them very often.

For tomorrow and the whole next week the forecast predicts very, very strong winds. I’ll try how my new 7 works with 20meter lines… Hope to get some good kiteloops.

In Austria I got nominated for the sportsman of my state this year. Awsome to get this as a Kitesurfer…

What a day…

Yesterday was a crazy day. It was my second day here in RSA and this day was for sure allready a highlight of my stay here. Due to the bad windconditions at Capetown we drove to Scarborough again… But it was a bit diffrent than yesterday. A big swell was rolling in and the waves were really huge. I went out with Kevin Langeree and Nick Jacobs and we had a lot of fun on the water. The waves have been a bit scary but it was enough wind so I was always able to ride fast downwind…

Look at the pictures in the gallery!!!

Today it looks not too good but lets see how it will work…

First day in Southafrica

Hey Folks!

After a long trip from Vienna via Munich to Capetown I arrived here in Southafrica.

I’m still not used to the warm weather and the sun here so I’m tired all the time but that will change in short time for sure…

The first day was really good. Perfect to get back into it. The wind in Capetown was bad and so my father and I decided to drive more south (direction Cape of Good Hope) to find the wind. Finally we found it in Scarborough. The conditions have been pretty good for my 11, the wind was sideshore and there were only small waves. I had one hour great fun and everything worked better than I expected after my break.

My father also tested his new photoequiment. He shot some nice pics and we try to upload them…

You find them in the gallery.

I’ll keep you updated

Cheers
